There’s tons of whispers and tweets about a proposed SATC prequel aka SATC 3. It’s soooo hard to imagine right. I can’t say I wouldn’t be excited although I just want the HBO series to come back on. I mean I remember when the show came on in my 20’s and I was thinking it’s not like that, this is soooo TV. Well honey, this is sooooo my SATC style life. Minus the outrageously fabulous wardrobe and freelancing at Vogue. I’ve got my Mr. Big and my 3 besties in tow and my 30’s could never be better. But a young Carrie. I still see Sarah Jessica Parker.

The rumor mill is casting Elizabeth Olsen as Carrie Bradshaw, Emma Roberts as Miranda Hobbes, Blake Lively as Samantha Jones, and Selena Gomez as Charlotte York. Personally I was thinking Blake would be the better choice for Carrie since she’s already larger than life as herself. She would do well as a Carrie B! Emma Roberts is Julia Roberts niece … that explains the effortless beauty she has. You probably only know Selena Gomez because of Justin Bieber but she’s a part of that Disney fam perhaps a few decades behind our attention span. Elizabeth Olsen is the younger sister of Mary-Kate and Ashley. She might be a good Carrie just because she already possesses that uber hip city style. She’s been in a few (more like 1) ad campaigns.

The rumored prequel would be based on Candice Bushnell’s two novels, The Carrie Diaries and Summer And The City. I haven’t read either.. Maybe I should brush up?

Q: Do you think it’s over kill? Should we just leave a good memory alone and bask in the joy of the HBO series, and 1 and a 1/2 great movies?

It’s overkill! I loved movies 1 & 2, and I’m a glutton for Sex & the City reruns on TV, but I think a prequel will be too much! Totally understand the power of this empire, but I wish they’d just let us live with our fond memories of the series.

    Love the blog!
