My closet, especially the fall side, is so sad right now. Nearly depressing! My need to shop is quite unbearable. So I gave in and I went searching for new pieces to add to my arsenal. You know the usually–cute leather skirts, more peplum tops, and I must get a sheath dress. As a curvy girl it can be hard finding trendy pieces. Most brands offer nothing more than over-sized elastic pants and printed tunics perfect for someone named Bertha (my apologies if your name is Bertha–oops)!

Insert Lord & Taylor. The 6th floor to be exact! Vince Camuto. Michael Kors. DKNY. Adrienna Pappell. An entire floor of clothes just for me and my curves. Who freaking knew! I spent the next 48 minutes going from aisle to aisle, section to section–grabbing sequins, lace, and tons of leather trendy options perfect for my new New York social life.

Check out what I found on the 6th floor.

I went shopping recently, and it reminded me of why I stopped going shopping for, oh…most of my life. 🙂 It’s gotten to the point that I’m gearing up to have a couple of never-gonna-fit-off-the-rack things made for me. I noticed that in Plus Land even the woven (rather than knit) blouses with collars and sleeves are nevertheless all poly, while the small people shopping at the same store can have silk.

Has the plus sized situation gotten worse since my last momentary glance at fashion in, oh, 1984? (Clogs! Remember clogs? Oh, my God, they’re back, aren’t they?)

But I’ll be getting on a (cold-and-flu-germ-filled) plane across the country around Christmas, to NYC, and this sounds like a lovely consolation.

Unfortunately I do remember clogs! They were the ish back in the 80’s. I adore Lord & Taylor. You should totally visit when near one!
