Last month I shared my obsession with the Fenty Beauty foundation and my honest thoughts on her Galaxy Palette. In true RiRi fashion, she couldn’t even let Thanksgiving be great. She released her new liquid lipstick (aka lip paint) the day after at 12 midnight. Yes, ya girl set her alarm and snatched up two Fenty Beauty Stunna Lip Paints. At first glance, it’s definitely not the last red lipstick you’ll ever need or buy, but here’s the question of the day. Is the stunna worth the hype?

Product Deets:

It’s competitively priced at $24. Most liquid lipsticks run around $18-36.
By beauty standards, this is a true red meaning it’s not too cool or too warm and will flatter most, if not all, women.
It’s a one-stroke intensive 12-hour matte wear. The 12-hour claim is mostly true. I applied around 10 am and didn’t reapply again until 7 pm because I am that anal beauty girl.
By one-stroke, she really means you only need one dip for the application. Anything more will result in longer drying time which leads to smudging and “movement”.

Buy or nah:

Honestly, it’s not a must-have kind of red. I think brown girls naturally look better in a red lip that has more of a blue tint. But if you’re a Ruby Woo or Russian Red kind of girl, this will be a good upgrade for you. It will be very orange depending on what you pair it with. Wearing a white shirt highlighted a lot of the orange tones while wearing all black deafened those highlights a bit. But don’t get me wrong, if you’re like me and just adore the Rihanna beauty movement you need this lip. I’m all here for supporting black beauty especially in a time where our buying efforts are finally being actualized. And lastly, if you’re also like me and have a bit of a makeup hoarding problem (no judgment whatsoever) this is also for you! Collecting makeup is an art and this packaging is a good piece to have in your arsenal. The bottom line is, I’m not regretting this purchase one bit!
