Even though I love makeup (with both my pinky toes and all my greys) I have no desire to spend two or three hours doing my makeup. I’m already late. I already wait until the last minute to get myself ready. I already want extra sleep in the morning. I already don’t really want to go anywhere. I’m already never really ready for nothing. I just don’t have that kind of time. So when I discovered shadow sticks a few years ago I was in heaven. #WhatPalette. While I love a good colorful palette, I adore shadow sticks because they’re so easy to apply and they travel like a freaking G. I don’t know how many times I’ve busted a brand new palette and now I have speckles of gold and brown makeup dust everywhere. In case you have no idea what a shadow stick is: it’s exactly what it sounds like, shadow in a stick aka a Shadow Stick! I recently gave Estée Edit’s The Edgiest Kohl Shadow Stick a go.
A shadow and liner in one (that you can use on your waterline) that lasts up to 24 hours. Create multiple effects from a kohl-lined look to a smoky eye. The Edgiest Kohl ShadowStick won’t budge. It stays where you put it until you take it off and looks as good the morning after as it did the night before. The ShadowSticks are layering-friendly so you can create a multitude of eye attitudes with just a few shades. Each comes with a built-in sharpener. This is your new secret weapon.
I. Am. In. Love! As a melanin-filled girl it can be hard to find products that are highly pigmented that don’t need reapplying. Some products will have you out here swiping your entire life across, up, down and back just for the product to show on your skin. Not this one! And like their description promises, it lasts at least 24 hours and does not budge! Getting it off with a makeup wipe proved to be a challenge so try an oil-based makeup remover.
Buy or nah:
The price tag is $22 which can be a little steep for one product but I think it’s totally worth it. Because it’s highly pigmented you don’t need a ton of it and the stick is pretty long. I’ve had mine for a while and it should last me until this winter.
