That moment you look up and realize that you’ve been working three jobs since last year, you’ve had no vacation and you’re all out of ideas for life. That was me just last week. I felt overwhelmed and just beat down. I was totes the burned out blogger!

I immediately took a vacation (I might blog about that later). But that didn’t seem like enough. My boyfriend reminded me that I had forgotten how to relax. There was a time where I would have daily minutes (at least 10) where I’d sit in silence and reflect on my day. I’d think about what I had learned so far in the day, what still needed to be done and what needed to be done for the next day. But now, I was way too busy for those daily minutes. There was a time where I’d read a good book on the subway. But now, I’m definitely too tired for that. I nap on the train. No wonder I’m burned out, I’ve had no time to relax and breathe. I hate when my boyfriend is right.

So I stopped in hopes that I’d be able to relax. But relaxation didn’t come easy. Heck, it didn’t come at all.

My mind was racing about all of the things that I could have been doing while I was relaxing. UGH! I had to take it back to my college days when a cocktail accompanied the end of my day. After working at the school deli and studying for exams, I always needed a quick release.

Fast forward to last week and insert Pinnacle Vodka.

I was first introduced to this amazing flavored vodka at a college BBQ. It’s a win for me because I LOVE sweet drinks. I love sweets actually. Anything that tastes like candy will quickly become my best friend. But back then I used to be a lazy drinker. I’d just mix everything with grape soda (yes grape, don’t judge me!). But now that I’m an adult, I’ve put some thought into my cocktail selection. You know like, now I have recipes and such.

But I’m still a big kid at heart so I’ve been dying to make an Orange Creamsicle Cocktail. Who knew this cocktail was so simple? All you will need is OJ, whipped flavored Pinnacle Vodka and ginger ale. If you’re not down with oranges, or want to add more flavor, you can use the pineapple or peach flavored Pinnacle Vodka.

When I tell you guys this is my jam (insert smacking lips sound!)…like, it tastes like a true orange creamsicle, just like the kind I use to get at the corner store when I was a kid. But it’s even better because NOW it’s all grown up. I literally just sat on my couch (just me and my warm fuzzy feeling) and chilled out to some Jill Scott. Now that’s a perfect pairing.

I know you guys wanna get like me so…CHEERS!

  1. In a glass with ice, stir all ingredients, top with whipped cream and enjoy!
