Since I’ve gotten back on my workout wagon, I decided to incorporate running. Bad idea. I only lasted for about 5 seconds before my feet became overwhelmed with a tingly sensation, and then exactly 5 seconds later they were on (what felt like) fire. But not just a regular “Oh I’m sitting near the fireplace with my flip flops on” type of heat — a “Big grizzly monster like creature is chasing me and I’m running down a volcano” type of heat.

When I spoke to my trainer about my issue she politely looked down at my 3 year old pair of sneakers and said, “Oh Honey … it’s your shoes”. Great something else I have to buy. 

So imagine my joy when I was introduced to NIKEiD.

My first design is SO me. GREY with a hint a NEON! I designed like 5 pairs, lol


HERE’S THE GOOD NEWS: For all you guys dying to design something, NIKEid has a super customizable app on Facebook. You get to pick the color of each section of the shoe – I’m talking the mesh, laces, and even what color your want your NIKE swoosh to be. I just got excited for a minute, didn’t you. That means you can have your favorite grey sneaks, or create a custom pair of color blocked sneaks.

WHY I HAVE A FEELING THEY’LL SOLVE MY PROBLEM (and yours): NIKE is the shoe that merges the natural motion of a bare foot with the protection of traditional footwear. That statement only has me stoked to try out a pair. Don’t be surprised if you see me running around town with my custom Neon sneaks. I am obsessed with Neon now.
