What Curvy-Girl Trends Did I Spot At Essence Music Festival? [VIDEO]

Essence Music Festival came and went but not without a huge bang. My experience there was beyond amazing and really brought me to an extremely humbling place. Everywhere I went people knew of my blog and of course everyone loved Lane Bryant. I got a chance to meet so many of you passionate about the lack of curvy-girl options.

Although you all expressed your struggle in finding fashionable threads (and trust me I totally get it) I was inspired by many of you who overcame that obstacle and rocked the most daring fashions you could find. From crop tops, to mini’s you guys showed that curvy girls are two things–super stylish and creating new trends. But as I was posting on Instagram for Lane Bryant, I noticed a lot of comments about what curvy girls shouldn’t be wearing, and how we are too big to sport certain trends. Well you all now how I feel about it, so I took to the streets to ask my fellow curvy girls what made them feel sexy? Check out the video below.

Love the recap!!! I wasn’t able to make EMF this year, but I will be back in 2014. What makes me feel sexy? I typically feel extremely sexy when I assemble my clothing head to toe and I am completely comfortable in what I am wearing. I love a flirty fish tail maxi dress. You can never go wrong with this piece. Especially a maxi that looks modest, but has the right hint of sexy such as a droop or cut out back.

  2. Thanks for the great coverage and overview of stylish sightings from the festival!
