Almost 18 years ago I walked into a tattoo shop near my apartment at the time and pointed at a design of a dragon on the wall and said…”I want that one!”
That quick and impetuous decision ended up haunting my personal style for years to come. It left me with a tattoo that I regretted for almost 20 years. When I looked in the mirror that day, I know I had made an unquestionably bad decision.
I’ve been working really hard so when I get to brag…I really brag. My hard work is finally being recognized by my peers and other experts in the style and beauty space, and I could not be more happier (well, unless I win the Powerball)!
So I have a confession. I was the cute nerd back in college and I totally skipped the college drinking games and made my way straight to class instead. I know boring.
But my homegirls, Danielle from Style & Beauty Doctor, Lara from Pretty Connected and Jenna from TheOverAnalyst., dragged me out one night last week to celebrate… being a fly girl! We decided to just have a quick girls night out filled with silly college-like games, some great conversation and of course my new fave–Baileys! (it’s so delish)
Whoa what a night. I learned that I am horrible at ping-pong. SPin New York is so cute but yooooooooo–I suck in real life and I nearly took Lara’s left eyeball out!
But there’s one thing that all bloggers do really well.. POSE!
Meanwhile, Jenna and Lara came with their game faces attached and meant business. Can you guess who won!?
Random thought: writing about how annoyed I was with Rihanna and her week of grey hair is on my list of things to do before the month is over!
Last week I was a part of a Huffington Post Live panel of grey-haired digital beauties. HUGE HUGE honor for me! We chatted about the most obvious question we all get asked by strangers everyday–why we choose to let our grey hair take over our heads, when did we start going grey, and how people react to our grey tresses. I’ve written about my hair before, it’s even in my featured posts on my blog. So I am always surprised when people ask me if my hair is natural. But I will digress on that. Check out the video below. PS I am a ball of nerves, the light was horrible, le sigh!
