But am I the only person who gives celebrities imaginary friend roles? For example… both Jamie Foxx and Kerry Washington are really good good friends of mine (in my mind). In my mind Jamie and I are ex’s but still really good friends because well, doesn’t everyone want a funny guy around. Kerry Washington has been my good girlfriend since “Save The Last”. I encouraged her to take that role.
Sessilee Lopezrecently channelled her inner Aaliyah for The Block Magazine. You guys know she’s my fav right. After 3 years, she’s still one of the best in the game and firmly holding on to that black supermodel title.
The magazine explains, “In 1994 before Stylists and Sartorialists, a 15-year-old Aaliyah proved that R&B could be both chic and street…” I so remember dressing like this – overalls, big baggy jeans, shades, and super straight hair.
The few times that I have watched Love and HipHop I’ve grown to love Emily (and Chrissy of course, she throws a mean jab wouldn’t you be her friend too!). Since Emily’s new ‘I’m single’ title she’s gained a lot of press. She recently hosted Drink OR-G‘s NY launch and now she’s celebrating her cover for PYNK Magazine.
Emily chats with PYNK Magazine about her new line – Emily B, her shoe collection, and the perfect shoe for any fashionista. Read the snippet from the interview and check out the images… Continue reading →
In just a few days (Sept 8th), V Magazine will drop it’s latest issue which includes a 72 page editorial tribute to Liz Taylor. Each of images embody the gorgeous spirit of Liz Taylor and a few of them I really thought were just old images of her. Photographer Mario Testino and fashion god and former Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld have totally taken the word tribute to it’s literal meaning – exactly copied; realistic as opposed to abstract or impressionistic. When I clicked the play icon for this Lanvin Fall campaign video I was really just expecting some pretty gorge fashions. The norm from Lanvin. I’ve been a fan of this brand for a while. But this video … way too cute. I can only imagine the fun these models had while shooting the video and I am even more curious to know how many takes it took to capture them all with straight faces while dancing to Pitbull. The designer making a cameo at the end is of course amazeballs.
It does have me thinking of how much fashion and music intertwine and an even a bigger thought of how much Hip Hop influences fashion. Continue reading →
For the October issue of Glamour Magazine, Nicki Minaj talks about the insecurities she doesn’t have and how “low key” and ordinary she really is. In the editorial she rocks stunning fashions from Tom Ford, Christian Louboutin, LaCrasia, Louis Vuitton, Jeremy Scott, Mark Fast, Dolce & Gabanna, and Guiseppe Zanottis.
