So I am currently pinching myself! Like seriously, did I just interview one of my favorite designers. She’s just a regular girl from Detroit living out her dreams, but OMG Tracy Reese put Michelle Obama in one of her best looks ever!
Well tailored pieces with English influences graced the models for the Ruffian Fall 2013 Collection. The designers created fabulous must-have wardrobe pieces like leather tunics, capes, and menswear inspired pieces–which came in black, and neutrals with splashes of shiny jacquards and pops of purple. Their color choices gave these well layer looks some much needed life.
Knee-length dresses were paired with calf high leather boots and heeled sandals with black socks. I loved the Ruffian fall 2013 collection so much, I found five of your favorite celebs who could wear these looks off the runway right now.
Solange Knowles: The Singer/DJ/Blogger is well known for pulling off a suit and a print so this Ruffians look is perfect for her..
Estelle: Posting Givenchy bags, Haider Ackerman boots and Christian Dior haute couture looks on her instagram has us wondering if she next fashionista to pull off some runway looks.
June Ambrose: Exaggerated neck ties, jewelry, or head pieces is right up June’s alley–making this Ruffian look ideal for Mrs. Ambrose to rock.
Kim Kardashian: Honestly we could see “Celebrity stylist” rapper Kanye West styling Kim in this.
Kanye West: Speaking of Kanye, according the the run of show this is a kilt so even you can be spotted in Ruffian Fall 2013.

Because I believe in the fashionista in you and I, I have a feeling you are dying to see the shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Rather than make you wait until all of my content is finally up (and who knows when that will be since I am literally running around the Big Apple) I thought this might be a great Valentine’s Day gift for you all to watch the shows live.
I’ve been obsessed with polishing my nails since I sadly cut manicures out of my budget. My nail polish collection has grown from just 5 to a whopping 59 polishes in the last year. Partly from all the events I attend and more because every time I visit a Duane Reade or a Walgreens I score an amazing new color. One would think I would have every color by now, but it’s soooo many to try.
The season the beauty trends at NYFW were a little different. Designers are using more racy colors in their collections, trying out wild and crazy hair looks, and even a slew of eye catching nail trends.
I spotted a few on the runway that I must try. Some I may have to get the salon to do. My hands aren’t that steady. Check out 5 must try manicures you should try. Continue reading →
Early AM runway shows are always the hardest. You’ve been out partying and drinking the night before, pushed that snooze button at least 5 times, and now you’re rushing to the train with 5 inches platforms on hoping that the designer is as late as you are. Luckily nothing starts on time at MBFW!
As a nodded my head to the sounds of DJ Max Pask, Ruffian reminded me of my high school band days. The runway was filled with crisp black and white tuxedo suits, academy blazers, derby jackets, and tons of color blocking! Continue reading →
I love when words like cognac, emerald, and graphite are used to describe things. Even though my mind still sees orange-brown, green, and gray those words scream luxury. Which is exactly what Milly by Michelle Smith delivered – young luxury.
This collection left me stunned with questions like “does that come in my size” and “I wonder if I can afford that”. Michelle managed to infuse her rich jewel toned color palette in every look including accessories like envelope clutches and cross-body mini’s.
Take a look at some of my favorite looks for this collection.
