I’ve been attending fashion week for the past seven years and although I am grateful for every invite I receive I decided this year I would skip most of the shows (I gave those invites to my contributors) and only attend my favorite ones.
The Go Red For Women Red Dress Collection runway show presented by Macy’s is one of the most coveted fashion week shows. I’ve applied numerous times in the past only to get the dreadful “sorry, we are at capacity” email.
It’s that time again. NYFW is literally days ago. The only thing that’s keeping me slight sane and kinda organized are these women right here. (Why do I always looks irritated? I was actually having fun!)
So I am currently pinching myself! Like seriously, did I just interview one of my favorite designers. She’s just a regular girl from Detroit living out her dreams, but OMG Tracy Reese put Michelle Obama in one of her best looks ever!
Well tailored pieces with English influences graced the models for the Ruffian Fall 2013 Collection. The designers created fabulous must-have wardrobe pieces like leather tunics, capes, and menswear inspired pieces–which came in black, and neutrals with splashes of shiny jacquards and pops of purple. Their color choices gave these well layer looks some much-needed life.
Because I believe in the fashionista in you and I, I have a feeling you are dying to see the shows at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Rather than make you wait until all of my content is finally up (and who knows when that will be since I am literally running around the Big Apple) I thought this might be a great Valentine’s Day gift for you all to watch the shows live.
I’ve been obsessed with polishing my nails since I sadly cut manicures out of my budget. My nail polish collection has grown from just 5 to a whopping 59 polishes in the last year. Partly from all the events I attend and more because every time I visit a Duane Reade or a Walgreens I score an amazing new color. One would think I would have every color by now, but it’s soooo many to try.
The season the beauty trends at NYFW were a little different. Designers are using more racy colors in their collections, trying out wild and crazy hair looks, and even a slew of eye catching nail trends.
I spotted a few on the runway that I must try. Some I may have to get the salon to do. My hands aren’t that steady.
