The Good, The Bad, & The Fashionable: The 2012 American Music Awards Red Carpet (PHOTOS)

The red carpet for the 2012 American Music Awards was kinda light this evening but still filled with plenty of best and worst options. We totally missed Beyonce, Rihanna, Mary J– I mean, where was everyone tonight. #KanyeShrug

But on the flip.. the red carpet hosted lots of blondes and tons of gold gowns! From Nicki, Kelly, Taylor, and Jordin–check what your favorite celebs rocked on the red carpet.

Nicki Minaj The 40th American Music Awards - Arrivals

This was way too much hair for any one person BUT I loved it. Still outrageous enough for her Barbie persona but still cute and kinda channelling Marilyn.

I also adored her chartreuse Monique Lluiller gown. She stayed on trend and didn’t back down from her love of color. Still bold enough for the Barbs herself!

Kerry Washington 40th Anniversary American Music Awards - Arrivals

I am very biased when it comes to this woman. I think I love her fashion choices because she is so daring. Although I wish this was a different hue of yellow.

This Stella McCartney number would have been better in black and definitely not with those cute coral pumps. Way wrong.

Brandy at the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards - Arrivals

Whoever does Brandy makeup need a raise. They’ve created an amazing signature style for the superstar that really compliments her and all of that space in between her eyes. (IJS)

Loving the boots. The dress is just weird. But sometimes great fashion is. Oh and this hair! FLY!

Christina Aguilera at the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards - Arrivals

Oh Christina. I mean perhaps the new curves will take you some getting use to. Because those boobs are oozing out of this Pamella Rolland prom dress. Which all of her dresses this is what she picks? Confused very much.

Kelly Rowland at the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards - Arrivals

Kelly totally werked this Naeem Khan dress. Very basic but still chic.

Jordin Sparks at the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards - Arrivals

Jordin got a lot of talk on twitter for this gown. I love it. Simply because it’s different. The dress is from Etro (whom I will have to google).

Gwen Stefani at The 40th American Music Awards - Red Carpet

Are we not swooning over Gwen Stefani and her Balmain blazer? I can’t figure out if I love her or the jacket more. Fug it, it’s a tie!

Taylor Swift at The 40th American Music Awards - Arrivals

Dressed in a Zuhair Murad Pre-Fall 2012 long sleeve mini dress, Taylor Swift is bringing her sexy back with all of that intricate gold beadwork and a sexy open back.

Heidi Klum at The 40th American Music Awards - Arrivals

The things girls with no booty can wear! Heidi Klum donned a look from Alexandre Vauthier’s Fall 2012 Couture collection. I really wish it were longer. But she’s still got those VS Angel legs.

Ginnifer Goodwin at the 40th Anniversary American Music Awards - Arrivals

Ginnifer Goodwin is just way too adorable in the Oscar de la Renta Resort 2013 cocktail dress. Her publicist must have said, “Please stand like a little white porcelain doll!” The detailing on this dress is swoon-worthy!

This bow! Adorbs. I enjoyed what little red carpet arrivals I saw.

Who do you think was best dressed (and the worst too?)
