Black Director Ava DuVernay Releases Fashion Film For Miu Miu

Ava DuVernay, who is the first black woman to win the Best Director Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, directed a pretty awesome short film for fashion line Miu-Miu titled “The Door.” The short fashion film stars Gabrielle Union, Alfre Woodard, Emayatzy Corinealdi, Adepero Oduye and Goapele. It’s the fifth installment for the brand’s series Women’s Tale, a celebration of the transformative power of feminine bonds, and a symbolic story of life change

Miu Miu has commissioned female directors internationally to tell stories showcasing their newest collection. The first scene is pretty powerful!

Watch Gabrielle Union who appears distraught over a break-up–tears and all. Her friends come by and save the day via a new Miu-Miu outfit. Check it out!
